Marksville Man Killed in Avoyelles Parish Crash
Avoyelles Parish – On October 12, 2026, at approximately 6:23 a.m., Louisiana State Police Troop E responded to a one-vehicle crash on Louisiana Highway 1 south of German Bayou Road. The crash claimed the life of a 38-year-old man from Marksville.
The initial investigation revealed that a 2003 Ford-150 was southbound on Louisiana Highway 1. For reasons still under investigation, the Ford left the roadway, traveled down the ditch embankment and impacted multiple trees, before coming to rest.
The driver, who was restrained, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead. Routine toxicology samples were obtained and submitted for analysis.
While the cause of this crash remains under investigation, distracted and inattentive driving continues to be a leading cause of crashes in our state. Louisiana State Police urges all motorists to stay alert while driving. A lapse in one’s awareness can have deadly consequences.
