Galliano Man Killed in Lafourche Parish Crash
Cut Off – On September 9, 2026, shortly before 6:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop C began investigating a two-vehicle fatal crash at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 3235 and West 107th Street in Lafourche Parish. The crash ultimately claimed the life of 23-year-old Kain Galliano of Galliano.
The preliminary investigation revealed that Galliano was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado east on West 107th Street. At the same time, a 2001 Toyota Tundra was traveling south on LA Hwy 3235 in the left lane. For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet failed to yield the right-of-way while crossing both southbound lanes of travel and entered the path of the Toyota. The Toyota struck the Chevrolet on its driver’s side. After impact, both vehicles entered the median and overturned.
Galliano, who was properly restrained, sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Toyota, who was also properly restrained, sustained minor injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
Impairment on the part of Galliano is unknown; however, standard toxicology samples were collected and submitted for analysis. The driver of the Toyota showed no signs of impairment and voluntarily submitted to a breath test, which showed no alcohol detected. This crash remains under investigation.
While the cause of this crash remains under investigation, Louisiana State Police urge all motorists to make responsible choices when driving. Motorists should always yield the right-of-way when required, check carefully for oncoming traffic, and proceed only when it is safe to do so. Avoid impairment, fatigue, and distractions, follow traffic laws, and ensure everyone in the vehicle is properly restrained. While not all crashes are preventable, simple precautions like these can save lives.
